Biography – Larry

Larry Campbell, CPFP 

After 48 years in the fleet industry, 32 of those as Fleet Manager for the City of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Larry has seen firsthand how leadership, culture, and strategy have shaped long-term success. His personal and professional evolution has included early challenges and building a nationally recognized operation in Fort Wayne. Under his leadership, the city has earned repeated recognition on NAFA’s 100 Best Fleets list, including the #1 spot in 2006 and has been frequently named among Government Fleet’s Leading Fleets.

Larry has drawn on decades of experience, including being named 2012 Public Sector Fleet Manager of the Year, 2022 Professional Manager of the Year-Public Fleet for the American Public Works Association (APWA), and being a founding inductee of the Government Fleet Hall of Fame. His work and perspective have been grounded in real stories about overcoming failure, earning trust, and managing long-term change. Key areas of focus have included performance measurement, facility planning, and the organizational shifts required to build a sustainable and resilient fleet. In 2025 Larry Campbell received the Legendary Lifetime Achievement award from Government Fleet magazine.

Larry Campbell is now a speaker, trainer, and consultant for Public Fleet Advisors (PFA) sharing his wealth of experience and knowledge with fleets across United States and Canada.
